Oracle FDI: Foundation for Finance and Procurement Analytics
As organizations move business processes to Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications, they also need ways to access, analyze, and visualize the data within those applications. Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (Oracle FDI) provides prebuilt, cloud-native analytics capabilities designed to help organizations do just that.
What Is Oracle FDI?
Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (Oracle FDI) combines a data pipeline, data warehouse, semantic model, and prebuilt analytics content to support reporting, visualization, and analysis of Oracle Cloud Applications data. It includes prebuilt metrics, workbooks, and visualizations, while also allowing organizations to customize and extend the platform around their needs.

Oracle FDI can also incorporate data from sources beyond Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications, providing organizations with additional opportunities to bring business data together for analysis.

Implementing Oracle FDI at Kamehameha Schools
Elire’s Oracle FDI work at Kamehameha Schools took place in parallel with their transition to Fusion Cloud ERP. The team stood up FDI from scratch and connected it to Oracle Fusion Cloud, bringing in finance and procurement data, including Procurement, Accounts Payable, and General Ledger.
Elire also tailored out-of-the-box Oracle FDI reports to surface the appropriate Kamehameha Schools data and make that information available to users through FDI’s reporting and visualization capabilities.
The engagement established Oracle FDI in lower environments so members of the Kamehameha Schools business team could begin utilizing and exploring the platform. This added an analytics and reporting layer to the broader Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP transition, giving users a new way to visualize and interact with their finance and procurement data.
Oracle FDI Meets Fusion Cloud Transformation
Because the Oracle FDI work occurred alongside the Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP implementation, Kamehameha Schools was simultaneously introducing a new ERP environment and new analytics capabilities. The FDI work followed a similar implementation timeline, establishing the platform while business users became familiar with Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP.
This gave select users the opportunity to explore Kamehameha Schools’ finance and procurement data within Oracle FDI and become familiar with its prebuilt reporting and visualization capabilities. Pictured below are examples of the Procurement – Spend and Balance Sheet visualizations.

What’s Next?
Oracle FDI provides organizations with prebuilt analytics capabilities that can extend the value of their Oracle Fusion Cloud application data. At Kamehameha Schools, Elire helped establish that foundation by standing up FDI, connecting finance and procurement data, and tailoring reports to the organization’s environment.
