Oracle PBCS Enhancement Project for Slalom

Scope of the Project

As part of a chart of accounts and reporting redesign, Slalom partnered with Elire to enhance their PBCS implementation. With four successful projects already completed together, Slalom’s finance team turned to Elire to add new reporting currencies to support their global expansion.

The Challenge

Slalom required a multicurrency solution with several key components. They needed income statement currency conversion calculations for three new reporting currencies (GBP, AUD, and EUR) based on their reporting geographies, with flexibility to add additional currencies as their business grows.

The implementation also required applying conversion scripts across six additional data scenarios and developing an automated process to integrate exchange rates directly from their ERP system using Data Exchange. The project included creating user forms and integrating the new conversion functionality into existing load processes. Beyond the technical delivery, Slalom needed training on the new functionality and a scalable framework for ongoing maintenance and future enhancements.

Success Delivered

Elire delivered flexible multicurrency reporting for Slalom on time and within budget. The enhanced PBCS application now provides robust currency conversion capabilities that integrate seamlessly with their ERP system. In addition to the technical build, Elire trained Slalom’s internal team on the new functionality and created a scalable process that enables them to maintain and add additional reporting currencies as their business grows. This new reporting framework was a critical part of their chart of accounts redesign and positions Slalom to scale financial reporting for future needs.
