Oracle Fusion Cloud Embedded Banking for Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation

Scope of the Project

Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation (MPTN) partnered with Elire to identify opportunities to increase efficiency across its Finance and Accounting operations. Building on Elire’s ongoing ERP and EPM work with MPTN, the teams reviewed reconciliation processes and identified opportunities to reduce manual effort and strengthen automation.

As part of this initiative, Elire supported MPTN with Account Reconciliation (ARCS) and Cash Management efforts focused on Balance Sheet Reconciliation processes that had previously been managed manually through spreadsheets and were not included in the organization’s initial implementation.

For this phase, the primary focus was Bank Statement Reconciliation within Oracle Fusion Cash Management. Because MPTN uses Bank of America as its primary agent bank, Elire worked with MPTN to leverage Oracle’s Embedded Banking functionality with Bank of America. The solution created an opportunity to streamline bank statement processing while establishing a foundation for further automation across MPTN’s financial operations.

Challenges

Embedded Banking was a relatively new solution, requiring close coordination between MPTN, Elire, Oracle, and Bank of America. Getting the necessary Bank of America resources aligned with the solution and implementation requirements took significant time, particularly because the functionality had a limited number of live customers at the time of the project.

Once resources were assigned and testing progressed, the project timeline changed significantly. The team needed to accelerate the planned go-live by approximately 90 days to keep the implementation moving forward.

Elire quickly adapted to the revised schedule, coordinating testing, training, and functionality validation while maintaining focus on a successful deployment. The compressed timeline required the project teams to make decisions quickly and collaborate closely without sacrificing implementation quality.

Success Delivered

Elire successfully supported MPTN’s August 1, 2026 go-live with Bank of America Embedded Banking, delivering the solution on the accelerated timeline without go-live issues.

The implementation provided MPTN with a more efficient approach to Bank Statement Reconciliation while reducing reliance on manual processes. More importantly, the project established a platform that MPTN can continue expanding as it pursues greater automation throughout Finance and Accounting.

Following the successful deployment, Elire and MPTN began scoping Phase 2, focused on adding electronic payments to the solution. This next phase is designed to further automate reconciliation activities and improve efficiency within MPTN’s payment processes.

The engagement also reflects Elire’s continued role as a trusted advisor to MPTN. Rather than ending at go-live, the partnership continues through ongoing Day 2 support and annual optimization initiatives designed to help MPTN maximize its Oracle software investment and identify new opportunities for improvement.
