Current State Assessment for University Institution
Current State Assessment
Scope of the Project
As a previous PeopleSoft Cash Management client, UVA was happy with Elire’s previous work which led to the team helping them with other broken processes like asset management. The team at the University of Vermont engaged Elire to provide UVM with an understanding of their current state regarding asset management. UVM was facing inaccurate and incomplete sources of asset management data, manual data entry processing that required rework when creating asset management data, as well as concerns associated with timing and scheduling of steps in the process. Their current processing was very manual with inefficient process steps. This led to inaccurate and incomplete asset management data that the Elire team was tasked with assessing.
The Challenge
With such a large scope and a short timeline of only two weeks to complete the assessment, allocating time and resources efficiently and effectively in order to deliver on the scope was a challenge. Elire worked with the client to bring in additional UVA resources, as well as brought in additional Elire resources to overcome this challenge.
Success Delivered
Elire discovered 42 disconnects and mapped seven processes which included data entry of fixed asset, depreciation calculations, retirement of the asset, and inventory. The project led to a better understanding of UVA and their current state problems. The results of the assessment were presented in July 2017.
