Alliant Energy serves more than 1.3 million electric, natural gas and water customers in Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Alliant has diversified operations both domestically and internationally. The company's worldwide headquarters are in Madison, Wisconsin and Alliant employs about 8800 people. Business unit operating headquarters are located in Madison, WI, Cedar Rapids and Dubuque, IA.

One year, $7.5 million dollar upgrade of PeopleSoft FSCM from 8.0 to 8.8 for the following modules, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Expenses, Projects, Deal/Cash Management, Purchasing, Order Management, Inventory, and Planning.

The FSCM upgrade from 8.0 to 8.8 required the upgrade of over 300 reports, interfaces, customizations, and enhancements in a highly integrated (Alliant Energy uses PeopleSoft FSCM, HCM, and EPM), multi-currency environment. Alliant had an overall project goal to remove 20% of all 8.0 customizations.

Alliant engaged Elire to participate on both the functional and technical aspects of the PeopleSoft FSCM from 8.0 to 8.8. Elire was responsible for the following modules from a functional standpoint, General Ledger, Cash/Deal Management. Elire was responsible for Security Administration and was responsible for the following either in full or part from a technical standpoint, Treasury, Order Management, PO, and Inventory.

Successfully upgraded and tested over 300 reports, interfaces, customizations, and enhancements. The project goal was to remove 20% of all 8.0 customizations. The project exceeded these goals by removing between 25 and 30% of 8.0 customizations. The upgrade was on-time and under budget by $2.4 million dollars. The project’s top stakeholders and sponsors, including Alliant’s CFO, cited the participation of key Elire resources as a critical factor which led to the success of the overall project.
